Nutmeg

Nutmeg is a spice made from the seed of the nutmeg tree (Myristica fragrant). Nutmeg have been traditionally used for flavoring and  medicinal purposes.  Nutmeg boasts of it's ability to relieve pain, soothe indigestion, build proper cognitive abilities, detoxify the body, boost skin and hair health, alleviate oral conditions, reduce insomnia, increase immune system function, improve blood circulation and inflammation.

The flavors of a nutmeg makes it key ingredient in many desserts, including pumpkin pie, custards, egg nog & drinks during the holidays.   

Did you know? It takes appropriately five years for a nutmeg seed to mature enough for a harvest.
